Colors, colors, colors. This is probably the first time I styled with all colors. I would usually go for a color and then black for safety and personal preference. So I am thrilled that I was able to pull off not only a printed top but a colored pants too.
This is my very first colored pants ever added to my wardrobe. I am a blue denim buyer because it’s safer and it looks good with anything, even on denim shirt (when done right). But I knew I just have to move on from blue (and black) denim and try a different color. It’s summer here in New Zealand and colors varied from their lightest shade to the darkest. Of course, I would go straight to my most comfortable shade, the darker shade. Voila! Dark purple pants and I love it!
The top was thrifted at one of the coolest stores in K’Road here in Auckland. It’s a mix of really lovely items for men and women and is just at the price range of $5 to $10! This one though is premium so it’s a little pricier than other items. it’s $25 bux. But for something this outstanding for that price, I’d get it. Another cool thing? Not a lot of people has this.
Trick to putting colors together? Well, I’m no expert but rules for color combination applies anywhere. It’s two complimentary colors: blue and violet. It’s on the same side of the color wheel. Both cools up the eyes. However, based on experience, any color works together. It’s a matter of finding the right shade and personal taste, I guess. Just don’t over-do it by putting the colors of the rainbow in your outfit. It hurts the eyes. Leave the 7-in-1 to the rainbow.
